As the founder of Skilled Acupuncture Services, I am manifesting a long sought dream of providing acupuncture to patients in an inpatient setting. After having studied Chinese medicine in Oakland California I traveled abroad and witnessed its application in Chinese hospitals. Their community model of treatment so impressed me that  I looked forward to institute in the same in the United States. Unfortunately, this model is not  as appropriate for an outpatient setting and was at that time, too difficult a proposition. To further round out my studies of health and medicine, I endeavored to study Western medicine and became a licensed physician assistant. There after I worked with my older brother, Emmons Collins MD, in building one of the fastest growing skilled nursing facility provider companies in the bay area, Spherical Medical. After the passing of my brother, and a brief sabbatical in the emergency room, I have returned to Spherical Medical under new ownership and long-term and skilled nursing care.  In early 2021, just as Covid began, CMS finally offered to cover acupuncture for chronic low back pain, facilitating acupuncture in an inpatient care setting. I am ecstatic to offer acupuncture to the elderly at no cost to them or their facility and  to help treat one of the most common and debilitating conditions we face as we grow old, chronic low back pain.

Blair is a California State Licensed Acupuncturist and current Doctoral Candidate through Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine College - Berkeley.  She works with patients of all ages through her private clinic in Oakland.  In 2021, she began working with elderly patients residing in Long Term Care and Post-Acute Rehab facilities throughout the Bay Area.  This work has fostered her long-term goal to integrate acupuncture into current standards of care for our elderly population thereby improving quality of life for patients and caregivers alike.

Jaime received his Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MSTCM) degree from the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences (ACCHS) in Oakland, CA in 2004. He continued studying and later earned his doctorate degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (DTCM) from Five Branches University. He is licensed by the state of California as a Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc), and by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) as a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (Dipl. O.M.). 

Before joining Acupuncture Fertility Specialists in March of 2021, Jaime practiced TCM in various settings; including at his own healing clinic, a pain management center, and a rehabilitation center, for over 16 years. 

Jaime began treating women’s health and fertility issues back in 2007, while running his own health center in Grass Valley (Lotus Health Center). He treated many women, including a patient whose menstrual cramps were so severe that her gynecologist was recommending a complete hysterectomy. After a couple of months of acupuncture treatments the surgery was not necessary and 6 months later she was able to conceive. 

Beyond women’s health issues, Jaime also began to specialize in pain management at his own health center, and later at an integrative medicine center in Watsonville. In addition to acupuncture, he uses other techniques, such as gua sha, moxa, and electro-acupuncture.

In 2006 Jaime joined Acupuncturists Without Borders (AWB) where he received extensive training on the use of the NADA protocol to treat mental/emotional disorders, such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and insomnia. As a volunteer for AWB, Jaime donates countless hours offering the NADA protocol to veterans, the homeless, and those under emotional distress. Jaime is also certified by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) in the use of the NADA protocol for substance abuse. Jaime used this very powerful protocol in several rehabilitation centers in the Santa Cruz area, helping residents to stay clean and sober.

Jaime is a compassionate healer with a great sense of humor who loves to educate his patients and whose bedside manners put every patient at ease. 

Jaime is married and has two adult kids and lives with his wife Jennifer in Rocklin. He was born in Chile and grew up speaking Spanish. He believes in exercising every day, eating a plant-based diet, and quieting the mind.
